Summer Camp Program
July & August

Each week features an interactive theme where children obtain valuable knowledge through cooperative games, dramatics, the arts, outdoor gross motor activities, excursions, and educational field trips — all while making friendships and memories.

  • Open to all enrolled Busy Bees children across all programs — and new families joining for the summer
  • Weekly themed activities — arts, drama, cooperative games, and outdoor exploration
  • One field trip per week — all costs included in the Summer Camp Program Fee
  • Snuggle Up Reading Program runs July & August to prevent the "summer slide"
  • Summer Camp Fee is in addition to regular daily care fee
  • Summer Camp Calendar shared with all families before the end of June via Lillio App

Summer Camp is Open to All Programs

Summer Camp is available to all children currently enrolled at Busy Bees, across every program. CWELCC eligibility applies to Toddler, Preschool, and Kindergarten children.

ℹ️

Children turning 6 between January and June are CWELCC eligible until June 30 of that year. Children turning 6 between July 1 and December 31 are eligible until the end of the month they turn 6.

On weeks with scheduled field trips, the morning outdoor session or afternoon learning centre time may be replaced by the excursion. Parents will always be notified in advance with full details and consent forms.

Each week is built around an engaging theme. Educators plan all activities, arts, games, and discussions around it for an immersive experience. The confirmed 2026 Summer Camp Calendar will be shared with all families before July.

Field Trips & Excursions

Weekly educational field trips are a highlight of the Busy Bees Summer Camp experience — parks, nature centres, recreational facilities, museums, and other age-appropriate local destinations.

Snuggle Up Reading Program 📚

The Snuggle Up Program keeps minds active and the love of reading alive — preventing the "summer slide" for every child.

Children read a book of their choice for 15 minutes, twice daily

What to Bring for Summer Camp

🎒 Daily Essentials

  • Sunscreen (labelled, with written authorization)
  • Change of clothes in a labelled bag
  • Closed-toe shoes appropriate for outdoor play
  • Light jacket or sweater (mornings can be cool)
  • Labelled water bottle
  • Any required medications with authorization form

🗺️ Field Trip Days

  • All daily essentials (listed left)
  • Signed consent form for the specific trip
  • Sun hat or cap
  • Comfortable walking shoes — no sandals on trip days
  • Epipen / emergency medication (if applicable)
  • No jewellery or valuables on field trip days

Electronics Policy

Kindergarten and School-Age children may bring personal electronics during Summer Camp only, under the following rules:

For limited-use time only — educators designate specific periods for device use

No sharing of electronics; no phones with SIM cards; internet is never available to children

⚠️

Electronics removed immediately if misused — parents may request in writing that their child not use electronics

Busy Bees is not responsible for electronics that are lost, broken, or stolen. Expensive devices not recommended.

Freshly Cooked Nutritious Meals Daily

Our Licensed In-house Kitchen serves freshly cooked, nutritious Lunch and Snacks daily. The summer menu may feature seasonal items appropriate for warm weather.

  • Four-week rotating menu posted on the Menu Board outside the Kitchen
  • All food allergies, restrictions, and sensitivities posted in classrooms and the kitchen
  • Parents must inform the centre of all food allergies before Summer Camp begins
  • Children with anaphylactic allergies must have an Epipen and Emergency Plan on file

⚠️ No Outside Food Policy

No outside food permitted except in documented olfactory sensitivity cases with prior written authorization. All such foods must be peanut and tree nut free, pre-prepared, and include a full ingredient list.

How to Register for Summer Camp

Summer Camp is available to all currently enrolled Busy Bees families and new families joining for the summer. Registration is subject to availability of spots.

Tour Invitation

As per spot availability and the waitlist, Busy Bees will contact you by phone and email to arrange an in-person orientation tour of the facility.

Make the initial deposit and collect the Registration Documents to confirm your child's place for Summer Camp.

Submit all completed Registration Documents before your child's start date. Care cannot begin without complete documentation.
