Our Kindergarten program bridges the gap between preschool and formal schooling β a unique mix of academic, social, and extracurricular activities. It runs as Before & After School Care during school days, and Full Day Care during all school closures.
Before & After School Β· Full Day Β· CWELCC Eligible
The Kindergarten program runs in three modes throughout the year β each designed to keep children engaged, safe, and growing.
A calm, structured morning with learning centres and snacks before the Busy Bees bus takes children to school. After school, children return for snacks, outdoor play, and focused activities to close out their day.
On PD Days, March Break, and Winter Break, Kindergarten children enjoy a full, enriching day β morning snack, two outdoor sessions, learning centres, lunch, quiet reading time, and afternoon activities.
July and August bring themed weekly activities, cooperative games, arts, dramatics, excursions, and the Snuggle Up Reading Program. Electronics are permitted for limited use during Summer Camp only.
Structured predictability helps children transition smoothly between activities β whether it's a school day morning, an after-school afternoon, or a full closure day.

Our educators use How Does Learning Happen? β Ontario's Pedagogy for the Early Years β to guide their practice. Our Kindergarten program is built around four foundational conditions for children to grow and flourish.
Each Kindergarten child continues to be valued for their individuality and unique contribution. Staff build strong, supportive relationships with children and families. Children's work is displayed and celebrated throughout the classroom. As children prepare for school, their sense of belonging becomes a key anchor for their confidence.
We address physical and mental health and wellness throughout the program. Routines, meals, outdoor play, and quiet time are thoughtfully planned to support self-care, self-regulation, and a healthy sense of self. Families are key contributors, and collaboration between educators and parents supports smooth transitions between our program and the school day.
Kindergarten children are naturally active explorers. We provide a safe environment where they can challenge themselves through active play, problem-solving, and creative thinking. Transitions between school and our program are managed to be smooth and predictable. Children are encouraged to take initiative and develop self-help skills appropriate to their growing independence.
We support children's growing communication abilities through language-rich environments, group circles, stories, songs, and creative activities. Cultural diversity is respected and celebrated. As children develop more complex language and literacy skills in preparation for school, we provide an encouraging environment that builds their confidence to communicate.
