Our Preschool program follows an approach split into six key areas โ building confidence, independence, and readiness for the next stage of learning while children continue to have fun through play.
Children are supported with patience and encouragement as they develop toileting independence โ a key milestone of this age group and a critical step toward full preschool confidence.
Language-rich environments, stories, songs, and group circle time develop growing vocabulary and early literacy foundations that set the stage for school readiness.
We guide children in forming healthy relationships, understanding emotions, and building empathy through caring peer interactions throughout every day.
Daily outdoor play, indoor gross motor activities, and fine motor work through art and manipulatives support full physical development at this critical stage of growth.
Preschoolers are encouraged to manage their belongings, practice self-help skills, and take initiative โ building confidence and autonomy along the way.
Our Senior Preschool room prepares children for the kindergarten transition โ building attention, listening, self-regulation, and early academic foundations.
When children are familiar with their daily routine, they are more engaged, focused, and better able to transition smoothly between activities throughout the day.

Our educators use How Does Learning Happen? โ Ontario's Pedagogy for the Early Years โ to guide their practice. Our Preschool program is built around four foundational conditions for children to grow and flourish.
Each child is valued for their unique contribution to the classroom. Staff build strong, supportive relationships with children and families. Children's artwork is displayed and regularly updated to reflect current interests. Photo albums help children share past experiences. Support for children with special needs is available through Peel Inclusion Resource Services (PIRS).
Families are viewed as important contributors to our program. We build connections between home and the centre through trust, diversity, and caring relationships. Staff and families collaborate to support smooth transitions into the program. Preschoolers are encouraged to develop growing self-care skills, self-regulation, and a healthy sense of self throughout the day.
The environment plays a key role in the preschooler's development. Children explore with natural curiosity, test their limits, and develop problem-solving and creative thinking skills through active play. Materials are thoughtfully added to challenge young minds. Transitions are smooth, and children are supported to take initiative in self-help skills. Outdoor play is scheduled twice daily.
We celebrate the diverse languages and cultures within our community. Family photos are displayed throughout the centre to foster pride and connection. Conversations flow consistently between staff, families, and children all day. Language-rich environments with stories, songs, group activities, and creative art support growing communication skills and early literacy.
